Prayer Topics for February

I believe I've used this poem of
Denise Brine's before, but I make no excuse for
using it again -
It's called "I want to see people the way Jesus
saw them".
It's in her booklet entitled "On Target and Other
Poems" and it's a favourite of mine -
it always makes me stop and think - and try again! |
I want
to see people the way Jesus saw them,
He looked, and he saw, and his love overflowed.
But sometimes I see with a vision that's clouded,
And people are objects that clutter my load.
I want
to see people the way Jesus saw them,
He stretched out his hands to the needy, the poor,
I too need compassion, a heart that is willing
To see in the outcast the things Jesus saw. |
I want
to see people the way Jesus saw them,
As children of God, with potential for more.
So, Lord, grant me vision, I want to see clearly
To see with your eyes and to see as you saw |

During the
Sunday evening meetings at approximately 6:30pm we have
a period of intercession, when we remember and pray for
members of our corps, who are ill and unable to attend
the meetings. We hold the intercessions at the same time
each Sunday, so that the people who we are praying for
can join us in pray.
